Special vaccinations are not required to visit Myanmar. Nevertheless, it is necessary to follow the basic rules of hygiene and safety measures, wash purchased vegetables and fruits, wash hands, etc. To avoid sun and heat strokes, it is recommended to wear a hat or use an umbrella at all times and use sunscreen.
It is recommended to use repellents, mosquito nets, have appropriate clothing and shoes during walks and hikes, and do not leave food open and in easily accessible places. Mosquito nets are installed in hotels and/or there is a regular treatment of premises from insects. It is not recommended to open windows in the evenings unless mosquito nets are installed on them. The main tourist cities and regions of the country are malaria-free, although malaria is still a danger in the jungles of remote border areas. However, in urban environments, especially during the rainy season, mosquito-borne dengue fever poses a certain danger.
In pharmacies which work around the clock, at large hospitals, there is a fairly wide selection of medicines, mainly imported. In small street pharmacies or pharmacies at shopping centers, you can buy first aid equipment, as well as traditional medicine and hygiene items. Doctors and medical staff are highly qualified and speak English quite well. The equipment in large hospitals meets international standards.
